The annual fundraiser event for the Royal Variety Charity featured an impressive lineup, including Jessie J, Icelandic singer Laufey, and the West End cast of Les Misérables. But the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the performance from Paddington: The Musical, which had the royal couple beaming with delight.

Kate and William even got to meet the star of the show, posing for a photo together with a marmalade sandwich in hand. The Princess of Wales couldn't resist sharing her excitement with 9-year-old twins Emelie and Olivia Edwards, who presented her with flowers on the red carpet.

A Secret Shared

As Kate chatted with the twins, she revealed that her kids were huge Paddington Bear fans and would be green with envy when they found out she'd seen the musical. "My kiddies will be very sad," she said, playfully adding, "We are going to have to keep it a big secret."

Royal Connections

The royal couple's meeting with Paddington was actually a reunion of sorts. They'd previously met the beloved bear at the Charities Forum Event at Paddington Station in 2017, where Kate even shared a dance with the iconic character.

The royal family has a special connection to Paddington, with Queen Elizabeth even appearing in a comedy sketch alongside the bear during her Platinum Jubilee in 2022 [12.
